Collection comprises a manuscript (419 pp.), typescript with handwritten corrections, of Schlayer's memoirs regarding his time spent in Spain, published posthumously as EIN SCHWABE IN SPANIEN: ERINNERUNGEN AUS DER ERSTEN HÄLFTE DES 20. JAHHUNDERTS (Stuttgart, 2007). After detailing his child and young adulthood, Schlayer described agriculltural methods used in Spain, the Spanish Civil War, and his discussions with King Alfonso XIII and Franco.
